Referring business is important in business because it helps the "good guys" succeed and, over time, weeds out those who offer poor service. This principle has worked well for our team as we have grown each of the last five years in the number of customers we have served. We feel this is positive validation of the way we serve our customers.
Also, referring a friend to someone who served you well is exciting and helps you create value for others! I (Joshua) love referring friends to people I know. My processor Janet recently mentioned that her daughter was in need of a car. I immediately thought of Josh Ellis, who has helped me purchase a vehicle on 2 separate occasions, and gave her Josh's name. Because I believed in what Josh did for me (or "Because I was confident he would provide great service again") and wanted to help make that connection. I called Josh to let him know about Janet and what she was looking for. The end of the story is a happy one as he had the perfect car for her and she was thrilled that I had connected her with Josh. Not Josh is one of the "good guys" in the car business, and I have helped him succeed. As I said, referring business is exciting.
So if we served you well with your home loan needs in the past and you would like to refer your friends, coworkers and/or family to us, we're thrilled! However, if you really want to help your friends as well as give them a chance to serve them, it isn't necessarily as easy as simply giving them my phone number. As I mentioned, I love referring others and I've found over the years that often time that good connection takes one more step. In the story above about Janet and Josh, you'll notice that I gave Janet his number but then I went a step further to call Josh and tell him about Janet and her needs. Please keep this in mind when referring friends to us and help us all make a meaningful connection.
